FAQ

Q. Are there any specific breeds that you will not work with?

A. None. Although I do take into consideration a dog's breed traits, I judge the dog on it's own unique temperment to decide if it's a candidate for my services.

Q. My Puppy is only 3 months old can she go on walks?

A. Most puppies have not had all there vaccines before the age of 4 months. Has a result most puppies immune systems are not 100% capable of fighting off any virus's it may encounter on a walk. This is especially risky in areas that have a high percentage of dogs. Because of this, I will not walk the puppy off your property until its had all required sets of shots. It still needs potty training which can be accomplished in your yard along with lots of socialization from me during the 30 minutes. Socialising your puppy is one of the most important components of raising a pup to becoming a well rounded companion.

Q. My neighbors dog walker takes all the dogs to the dog park at once, why don't you do that? It seems better for the dog.

A. There are several reasons for this. The foremost one being that the City of Alexandria code states that no person can have in their possession at anytime on public property more than 3 dogs. Violation can be anywhere from written warning up to a 200.00 fine. Secondly, and to me the most important, what happens if a dog walker has 5-6 dogs at the park and one gets hurt. How does he/she handle the other dogs while attending to the injured dog? Or worse yet, how do they transport that many animals in a vehicle safely? And what happens if there is a confrontation between 2 or more animals while being transported? For me there is just to many things that could go wrong doing that method and I'm entrusted by people to take care of their companions. I refuse to take such a risk.

Q. Your prices are lower than everybody else's. Does this mean your quality of service is lacking or below par?

A. Not at all. My prices are lower because I'm the owner and walker. Most companies have lots of clients and in order to stay in business thay either hire employees or contract the work out to independant contractors. By doing this if they are going to make money/profit they need to charge you more. I have references from people who have been in the animal care field going on 20 years that will attest to my knowledge, hands on skills, committment to excellence and most of all my devotion to the welfare of animals. All you have to do is ask I will provide them.

Q. We just got our dog from the shelter and she is extremely shy/timid. Can you help her?

A. Being a former Professional Dog Trainer will assist me in helping to build your dogs confidence.  I also have contacts throughout the field that deals with behavioral modification and I can contact one of them to discuss matters and get some different viewpoints to helping your dog.
